Banana Bread (What a week)

Another doozy for the books:  highlights!

My brother asked me to be his best man!  :)

One of my guitar students, Joce, actually asked to make up the class we missed on Monday!  :)

Two days I finished my classes at 6pm (dinner time--means LONG day).

Fidel and I (with Caleb and Fatima as our studly goalies) pretty much dominated at soccer 16-4.  :)

Angie, my oldest guitar student, wrote her first song!

I was in a bad mood one day this week, and I kinda took it out on Josías.  When I apologized, he said "It's okay, I do the same thing." That was really precious and inspiring coming from a 9-year old.  :)

The guys had a video game party on Friday.   Some friends brought a Kinect and I dominated the Wii Wakeboarding (before getting destroyed at Basketball).  The boys loved it.

I made Apple Pizza for our Saturday pizza day, just as good as Cici's!

Tonight, Fatima and I made the dough for Banana Bread; Jocelin and Carolina put it in the pans; Caro, Ana, Leo, and Alejandro worked on the separating nuts from shell, and Miguel and Leo helped me get it out of the oven.

I spent about three hours washing dishes the last two nights...I like dishes, but the lack of hot water is frustrating and makes it take longer.

I woke up at 6:30am to finish my laundry.

I went for an hour run here at some 7,000+ feet last night at 10pm.  It hurt (I need to jog a minute tonight before I sleep.), but it felt amazing.

We started a new section in our English class:  It's designed for English Kindergarteners, so it's really intense immersion reading for them, but at the same time the tests are super easy because they expect the students to be learning their ABCs...I'm super proud of my students for the way they've jumped in and gotten involved with the readings...

I found out my DTS I was planning on doing in September was cancelled.  :/  So all of this is pretty overwhelming, and I'm pretty stressed.  I'm debating whether I should get a job in the fall to pay for DTS (and if so, where???) or continue trying to do ministry full-time (but right now there's nothing I'm terribly excited about).  SLI is kinda up in the air as well, waiting to hear back from some people, and I think my summer plan, which I had all written out, is going to change dramatically.  Please pray for me.  I need direction, I need peace.  Not having a plan or feeling a specific direction feels pretty scary and overwhelming, I experience and see things through possibilities, so right now my brain is overloaded.

Tomorrow (in 6 hours) we leave on a missions trip to Acapulco.  We're doing a medical clinic in a woman's prison.  We'll be there til Weds or Thursday.  Please pray that I'd be able to minister to kids, and lead worship, and keep a good attitude in the middle of exhaustion.

Vaya con Dios!
