Yesterday I had school from 8am to 2:30, two classes, before going to a youth group leader's meeting which lasted til around 7, when I got home a friend/colleague came over and I made this website: http://childkg.weebly.com/ for his children's home which I visited a few weeks ago. (That post is so on my to-do list, there are just so many awesome photos to sort through.) He left around 11 so then it was bedtime.
Today I had three classes plus guitar, of course, the classes were mixed up because our physics teacher was out sick, so I was significantly under-prepared. With sixth class, one of the girls managed to lift 8 chairs at once as we were talking about true strength. (one of the guys was gonna go for nine, but he was going to hurt himself) After that, we picked up all the chairs as a class, showing how true strength is in a team, and knowing when to ask for help. We talked about Solomon and wisdom with 7th class, they did a really good job with a discussion lecture completely in English for 40 minutes. And then in their English class we talked about their projects. They're creating VLOGs, blogs, books, and newspapers this semester as homework. I think it just might be life-changing for some of them. :) Then they gave mini-speeches about their favorite month and burned through a hundred verbs in 20 minutes.
At five, like it was a movie or something, three people came to see me in a row:
1)A Pastor of a local church who wants an English tutor. The answer would so be no if I wasn't under significant pressure from my principal.
2)A tech guy from the largest church in Bishkek, who wants me to voice-over/render their sermons in English. Pros: Money. Cons: Time, and generally, in my experience, large churches tend to happen for all the wrong reasons, and I've already seen some of those tendencies here...Meh.
3)A lady from a organization that works with orphanage graduates (!!!) who wants me to do an English club for them. Fo' rizzle.
So then I went home to make dinner, but wasn't able to eat it before I had English convo class at the children's home next door. Christina wasn't really into it today though (she's a slouch), but I ended up talking with some of the other residents until 8pm. Now I have to plan for my four morning English classes tomorrow, which has taken me until 3am and 4am the last two weeks. Uy.
Oh, and
