Pensacola

Old friends, new dreams. I didn't do a whole lot in Pensacola...spent a couple days with old friends. Sang some songs, saw some airplanes and art, ran a 5k, watched NCIS with my adopted family, sang some karaoke. It was so good to see old friends, the time was too short and it had been too long. We cared deeply about each other and talked a lot, picked up and just started talking up a storm a couple times. We've also all changed a lot in two years, and I feel like I just scratched the surface on a lot of those things. The Moehle family was awesome and let me stay with them, I'm a big fan of most all of em. :)

Met with the Intervarsity Regional Director and the Essons, who work supporting and building things for ministries. Mr. Esson gave me a lot of practical advice on money, the company I keep, and what he's seen work in missions over the years. He also encouraged me not to judge things by statistics, but to go where God leads, because there are needs everywhere.

Mr. Depury, the IV director, brought me back to Incarnational ministry and encouraged me to live out my convictions in community, and to wrestle out my convictions with people who are living them out. He also stressed the importance of following God step by step, knowing your mission, and allowing God to grow you and call you again, step by step.

And then I spent a lot of time working on my message for Sunday, which can be found here:

Grace was really generous to let me share/preach, it was really cool to be able to share like that. And it definitely touched some people.

Onward!
