A Concert in Germany

So...I met one German girl at the Ark of Hope orphanage a while back...and then the last time she was there I was like "so I'm coming through Germany, maybe I could share with ya'll's youth group or something."  And she was like "sure, let's do it."

It really was a blessing and a God-thing.  Their church is really strongly tied to Kyr and many of the people were Russian-speaking Germans who had emigrated from there.  On the Sunday I was there, much of the service ended up being in Russian with translation.  Of course, the young people speak English so that's the language I shared in.

Being around the Klassen family was really healing and supportive.  Although I hadn't done a Bible study in over a week when I came to town, being around them, I didn't miss a day because I was so certain that was who I wanted to be and I wanted to be around their God.  Their family was so full of the JOY of God.  It was really encouraging to be around them and to see a family with a heart for missions and God.

So anyways, on Saturday night we set up a concert...I was thinking about just talking, but then after I and this girl's brother were swapping songs (he's amazingly talented) at his place, she said I should sing as well.  So I did, and I sang songs and told stories for at least 80 minutes, and I think it really moved people and encouraged them really deeply.  I talked about God's provision and coming to faith and different issues with following and ended up with a call to "take up your call" basically...it was really cool, afterwards I was able to talk to a couple people and pray with one 16 year old who reminded me a lot of myself.  :)  Maybe someday she'll be on mission in Central Asia too, but of course, the point of the talk was that she was on mission today.
