A few days before I came to Vilnius, my buddy Robertas hooked me up with a place to stay and an opportunity to share with the Vilnius Vineyard youth group. They're a small bunch, but it was one of the most engaging groups of people I've met. I dragged a bit between my testimonies and songs, but all in all, it was really cool to inspire and share some time with this incredibly talented and creative group of young people: actors, writers, musicians...leading worship with Robertas was really cool, half in English half in Lithuanian. And as I went through my songs, I saw that I was connecting to their hearts and dreams.
The big news here is that I met a student who writes Lithuanian worship music. I have been wondering where these people are, and it's been on my heart to mentor and encourage more original Lithuanian worship for quite some time. So I'm planning to take a week or two on my way back across the world to see what I can do to make that happen, maybe create some recordings and maybe even do a little seminar/conference specifically about songwriting. :) Plus, Robertas and I translated a 7th song of mine into Lithuanian.
