What do we praise? What do we sing?
I was talking to one old friend in Poland...and asked about their spiritual life. They were a little back and forth about it. According to Eastern European Catholic culture, your spiritual life is a secret place between you and God, so it's pretty rare to like...pray out loud...or talk about these things casually. It's sacred.
So my friend tells me "I know I should share testimony from my life...God is doing cool things...but..."
And so, a little perplexed, I asked, "Well, what can you praise God for in your life?"
And sadly, she didn't even give me generalities...instead explaining her reasons away.
While the conversation was a little sad, I think maybe even God was in it, because her reluctance lead me to this question. And I really like this question. Because so often we are together and we talk and even praise the latest and greatest whatevers. But as worship leaders and worshippers and Christians...how often...and how much more simply can we call people to worship other than just saying straight out, "what can you praise God for in your life today?"
So...what can you praise God for in your life?
