Mažeikiai

Sometimes it's the previously unplanned side trips that turn into the coolest opportunities for ministry, fellowship, and meeting with God. I visited my friends Greta and Ieva, (SLI students from last year who visited me during SLI this year) and it was pretty much everything I love doing. They invited me to mass, where I got to sing (in Lithuanian) and afterwards share testimony. I think all churches should have an equivalent to their "Tea and Testimony" time after the service; it was so good! I got to share (through Ieva as translator) two stories of God showing up in my life. I had to face a little bit of my anti-Catholic bias and rejoice that God was alive and moving in this church in cool ways! Praise God for the Lithuanians who are seeking God in the more traditional churches, and pray that they would catch a vision for transforming their corner of the world!

The next day we went to the local children's home and played for some three hours. It was really fun, rewarding, and made a lot more sense than many of the rushed performance visits I made in Russia.

After that, the three of us made food, ate fresh fruit, and recorded some songs together! Pretty much seems like my ideal two days! Here's Greta and I playing one of my songs.
