Austin

I spent three days in Austin with my old roomie Kelsey. I wanted to catch up with him, and I wanted a break between the crazyness (scheduling two events and to meet some 20+ people) of Norman and showing up in Mexico. It was great being with my old roomie, and the stuff we got to do was really fun and cool. On the first night, I was a dealer for a charity poker tournament that an org he's involved in puts on for abuse victims, which was cool, I love it when my friends involve me in things. I actually dealt from about halfway through the tournament until the championship hand at nearly 2am! Kelsey is in law school, and I learned a lot of things about law and government. He's worked on some pretty cool asylum and immigration cases, including a case this summer involving a Christian who'd been receiving death threats in her home country. The third night, one of his friends was really excited that she had impromtu live music at her birthday party. :) Good times.
