Summer Journal, Day 21: Good-byes

A pretty sleepy boy woke up this morning to set up sound for the closing ceremonies.  Fitting with the Olympic theme, I pretty much had to turn on the Olympic march a couple times while people marched in and out, so all my prepared music was for naught.

After that, Skaiste, Emma and I set up by the front door of Neumann to see people off, giving out hugs and handshakes and an occasional prayer or "I'm proud of you."  It's a pretty sad time, although there were a lot fewer tears this year.  As usual, everyone was asking "are you coming back next year?"  And for the first time I think not, and I'm okay with that.  I'll certainly miss SLI, but I'm really hoping to be somewhere east of here come next fall.

In the evening I headed over to City Church and shared my testimony with their youth group.   It was a really great time of sharing, leading worship in Lithuanian on the spot, and getting to know some of the group.  They were totally accepting and really excited to hear my message of following God even when it's hard.  Afterwards we went and hung out on the beach.  It was very strange to me, but everyone spoke English, and so we talked about life and dreams and just asked questions, getting to know one another.  I'm planning on staying involved with this group during my time here, I'm pretty excited about it.  :)
